Sing It! society was established as a University of Manchester students society in 2016 by Gina Hallums. Originally created as a mixed barbershop chorus, the choir soon branched out into singing lots of genres, whilst focusing on the wellbeing aspect that had always been at the heart of the society.
Since 2016, sing it! has faced many challenges with musical directors, rehearsal spaces and more recently, national lockdown restrictions, but our 2020/21 committee have been working hard to keep students singing, however we can!

LaraHello, I’m Lara and I’m the chair and a final year English Literature student. Before I joined, I had little music experience but I’ve learnt a lot from sing it! and my confidence has increased dramatically.

GintareHi! My name is Gintare, but you can call me gin (yes as in the drink). I am going to be a second year law student and am an aspiring solicitor. I joined sing it! So I could have an evening away from my studies, and this year I am the secretary!
